What is iLANE?
iLANE is an intelligent, portable device that rides with you inside your vehicle, and lets you control your smartphone by using voice commands. It lets you open, listen to, and respond to email entirely hands-free. Plus, iLANE lets you access and control lots of other smartphone applications, including phone and calendar.

How do I hear the information that iLANE reads aloud to me?
You can choose from these two audio configurations:
1) the Bluetooth headset - included in the box when you purchase iLANE
2) your in-car Bluetooth audio system, if compatible
How is iLANE powered?
iLANE receives power via simple plug-in to your vehicle's 12V accessory port (or cigarette lighter). iLANE is not hardwired into your car's electronic system, for easy portability or transfer to another vehicle.
Does iLANE have to be connected to a server to access my email?
No. iLANE communicates directly with the email on your smartphone, with no need for an external server connection.
Is the data secure?
Yes. Secure data exchange with your smartphone keeps private information localized in your vehicle.
Where in my vehicle does the iLANE device have to be located?
The iLANE unit does not need to be accessible during normal operation, and can be located almost anywhere inside the vehicle. For optimal performance and safety, the iLANE can be securely mounted to a dashboard vent, visor or in a cradle.
iLANE is easily removed from any mounting configuration for easy portability or transfer to another vehicle.
Does iLANE need to learn my voice?
No. Once iLANE connects to your smartphone and Bluetooth headset, it's ready to go..
Is iLANE compatible with my smartphone?
iLANE is currently compatible with all BlackBerry 8000 series smartphones running BlackBerry OS® versions 4.1.0 to 4.3.0. Other operating systems (OS) will be added in the near future.
How long does iLANE take to set up?
Set up is easy and takes only a few minutes. A simple Quick Start Guide will be included in the iLANE box that will walk you through the set-up process.
Do I need special software on my smartphone for iLANE to work?
Yes. During the installation procedure you'll be prompted to install iLANE software to your smartphone. This simple installation takes only a few minutes and is done right from the web browser on your smartphone. |
